Here at Brick Lane Bookshop, we’re passionate about connecting readers to books – it’s our whole thing. We also have a real soft spot for independent and small presses, for publishers who take risks and produce bold and innovative work. So we’re very excited to unveil our new subscription service celebrating the best in independent publishing!
Over the year we’ll spotlight twelve independent and small presses who are making waves in literary fiction and non-fiction. Each month you’ll receive a new release, hand-picked by our booksellers, with a note explaining why we selected it and what we find unique and inspiring about its publisher.
Your subscription will include:
- One paperback book a month
- A note about the book and its publisher
- Fully recyclable gift wrap and packaging
- The option of home delivery or to collect in store
- Subscription packages of three months or longer will also include a limited edition Brick Lane Bookshop tote bag

When will I receive my books?
Subscriptions are ready for collection or posted out at the beginning of each month. The date you purchase the subscription will determine when you receive your first book. Subscriptions purchased before the 21st of the month will commence at the beginning of the following month.
My delivery address is different to my billing address, what should I do?
That’s fine! Just make sure to include your shipping address in the ‘order notes’ section at checkout.
Can I buy the subscription as a gift?
Yes! Just let us know the person’s name and address in the ‘order notes’ section of the checkout page and we’ll be in touch to confirm details.
I live outside of the UK, can I still get my subscription delivered to me?
Unfortunately our subscription service is only able to be posted within the UK at the moment. Drop us an email and we can discuss this further if you wish!
What if I receive a book I’ve already read?
If we send you a book you already own, let us know and we will swap it for an alternative title by the same publisher. To receive a replacement, the original book will need to be returned. We do not cover the postage cost of returning a book to receive a replacement.
