Join us in supporting Brick Lane Bookshop’s Young Readers’ Fund by donating today. Together, we aim to bridge the literacy gap in Tower Hamlets and nurture a love for reading among local children.
At Brick Lane Bookshop, we believe everyone should have access to books, especially the youngest amongst us, that’s why we’ve set up the Young Readers’ Fund. We were inspired by a generous anonymous donor who wanted to provide books for children in Tower Hamlets – the only caveat was that they must get to experience the joy of going to a bookshop and picking their book themselves – and now you can help contribute to that same wonderful experience!
How It Works:
When you choose to make a donation through our platform, you are directly contributing to the Young Readers’ Fund.
Your generous contribution enables children from primary schools in Tower Hamlets to come to Brick Lane Bookshop and select their own books to keep, fostering a sense of ownership and excitement about learning. This is especially important as many schools in the borough don’t have libraries, and many children don’t have their own books at home. The ripple effect of your contribution extends to improved literacy rates, enhanced cognitive development, and increased academic success.
Make a lasting impact by contributing to Brick Lane Bookshop’s Young Readers’ Fund today.
Testimony from parents:
My son visited your shop with the school today. He told me the story as to why you allow children to pick a book for free and it really warmed my heart.I want to say a huge thank you, he is really excited to read his new book and loves writing his own stories. Financially it is difficult for me to buy books and this really has shown me there are kind and extremely generous people/businesses like you who do care for the next generation.
