Huma reads from her Brick Lane Bookshop Short Story Prize shortlisted story Small Differences and discusses finding time to write, her editing process and what she’s reading.

Huma Qureshi is the author of Things We Do Not Tell The People We Love which was shortlisted for the Edge Hill Prize and How We Met: A Memoir of Love and Other Misadventures, both published to critical acclaim in 2021. A former Guardian and Observer journalist, Huma won the Harper’s Bazaar Short Story Prize and was shortlisted for the Brick Lane Bookshop Short Story Prize in 2020. Her fourth book, a novel, will be published with Sceptre in 2023.
